Introduction to the National Standardized Resident Training Base, Hospital of Stomatology, SunYat-sen University

Guanghua School of Stomatology, Hospital of Stomatology, Sun Yat-sen University is a leading stomatological teaching hospital under the Ministry of Education and a specialized hospital directly administered by the National Health Commission. It is a world-renowned institution integrating medical service, education, research, prevention and health care.

As one of the first National Standardized Resident Training Bases, it is the only hospital accredited with all 7 stomatology residency programs in Guangdong Province. General Stomatology is a  ‌National Key Specialty Base of Standardized Resident Training‌. In 2025, the hospital was appointed the Leading Unit of the Expert Steering Committee for Stomatology Standardized Resident Training in Guangdong Province.

The Affiliated Hospital of Stomatology, Sun Yat-sen University is a national-level hospital under the National Health Commission. As one of the first joint provincial-national regional medical centers, it is fully committed to expanding and balancing the distribution of high-quality medical resources. The hospital has 720 dental units and 120 inpatient beds, and comprises 14 clinical departments and 8 medical technical departments, covering all 8 national key clinical specialties in stomatology. At present, we have 363 residents undergoing standardized residency training. We have a well-established teaching team with 226 certified residency training faculty members, of whom 51.1% are core faculty. The hospital operates three campuses: Yuexiu, Tianhe, and Nansha (under construction). Yuexiu Campus boasts a rich heritage, Tianhe Campus embarks on a new journey, and Nansha Campus brims with potential. This "One Hospital, Three Campuses" model is synergistically pooling strength to build a new highland for oral healthcare in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
